Curriculum Vitae
Prof. Dr. Yamirka Rojas-Agramonte
Prof. Dr. Yamirka Rojas-Agramonte studied Engineering Geology in Pinar del Rio, Cuba and obtained her Dr. rer. Nat. degree at Salzburg University, Austria, under the supervision of Prof. Franz Neubauer. She came to Germany for the first time in 2004 as a Humboldt fellow. Her research focuses on isotope geochemistry and geochronology to gain a quantitative understanding of recycling processes in subduction zones and mantle compositional heterogeneities. She combines detailed fieldwork and petrological observations with advanced geochemical analyses to study volcanic arc and ocean island systems through time. Recently, she has focused on investigating the role of inherited/xenocrystic zircon grains in juvenile mantle-derived igneous rocks.
