Upcoming PhD Examinations

Haoyu Hu is a doctoral researcher under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Yamirka Rojas-Agramonte. He will publicly present his PhD thesis in the main lecture hall of the Institute of Geology on 17 December 2025 at 3:00 pm. His PhD thesis is entitled “The Greater Antilles Arc of Cuba: A Natural Laboratory to Understand the Evolution of Intra-Oceanic Convergent Margin Magmatism.”
The presentation is open to the public, and all interested colleagues and guests are warmly invited to attend.

Danyellen has been working in the Isotope Geochemistry group as a technician for the Heidelberg Ion Probe Mass Spectrometer (HIP) since October 2025. She holds a Master’s degree in Physics and is currently completing her degree in Physical Chemistry.Her thesis, entitled “Excited-State Dynamics and Energy-Transfer Processes in Advanced Organic Semiconductors,” will be presented on 06 February 2026 at Heidelberg University. The defense is open to the public, and further information will be announced soon.
