Travel Information
For participants who will arrive by plane, the best location will be the international airport in Frankfurt. From there you can take an ICE to Mannheim and use local trains S1 or S2 towards Heidelberg-Altstadt. From Heidelberg-Altstadt it is a 3 minute walk towards the venue.
For participants who will arrive by train, there are two possible ways: (1) long distance train to Mannheim and then local trains S1 or S2 towards Heidelberg-Altstadt or (2) long-distance train to Heidelberg main station and then Bus 33 towards Heidelberg-Altstadt. From Heidelberg-Altstadt it is a 3 minute walk towards the venue.

Venue and Locations
We will hold the meeting on 15th to 17th September 2014 under the auspices of Heidelberg University at the Internationales Wissenschaftsforum Heidelberg (IWH). The IWH is a centre for scholarly exchange in all areas of science and was established on the occasion of the 600th anniversary of Heidelberg University in 1986. Since then it has been sponsored by Heidelberg University and is open for scientific conferences or workshops organized by university staff. It is located in the heart of the old town, providing opportunities for discussion of science objectives and cruise logistics in an informal setting.
The IWH offers up-to-date conference facilities, catering and accommodation all in one place. Meeting facilities include a conference room for up to 50 people, a workshop room for up to 20 people as well as further space and a garden area with outside seating that can be used by the different breakout groups.
Breakfast, coffee breaks as well as lunch and dinner will take place in the dining room next to the meeting facilities or alternatively in the garden (pending on weather forecast).
In addition, the IWH offers 11 rooms that can be occupied by workshop members while additional rooms can be ordered in a nearby hotel (5 minutes walking distance to venue) at special rates.
