Research Profile:

My PhD research aims to decipher the paleoclimatic dynamics during the late Pliocene and early Pleistocene based on an ICDP drill core from Paleolake Idaho, western USA. To develop a high-quality age model as it is required for all subsequent interpretations, I am currently developing a magnetostratigraphy for the core in close collaboration with Prof. Erwin Appel and Dr. Wolfgang Rösler (University of Tübingen) and Dr. Alexander Prokopenko (University of Cologne). Moreover, I am carrying out climate and vegetation reconstructions based on the analyses of pollen and spores from the core material.
