Research Profile:

  • Reconstruction of hydrological changes in (sub)tropical South America during the late Pleistocene and Holocene with focus on the response of low-latitude climate systems (ITCZ and SACZ) to high-latitude forcing

  • Use of foraminiferal geochemistry (Ba/Ca, Mg/Ca, δ18O, δ13C) as paleoclimatic proxies

  • Reconstruction of climate and environmental variability in the Mediterranean region since the end of the Little Ice Age based on varved lake sediments
