Annual meeting of DMG-sections Geochemistry as well as Petrology & Petrophysics 2019 in Heidelberg
The annual meeting of the DMG-sections Geochemistry as well as Petrology & Petrophysics will be held at Heidelberg University from 24 - 25 May 2019. The main focus of the meeting is the presentation of current research activities of both sections in a common forum. Especially junior scientists (master and PhD students) have the opportunity in this interdisciplinary event to present their projects and preliminary results to a broad scientific audience.
Changed location of the event: Lecture Hall Chemistry (Im Neuenheimer Feld 252).
The meeting starts on Friday with registration from 11am and the talks start at 1pm. A lunch snack will be provided. End of the meeting will be after the talk and poster awards on Saturday at 2pm at the latest. The traditional BBQ takes place in front of the institute on Friday evening so that discussions can be continued after the talks in a casual atmosphere and new contacts can be made. Interested participants will have the opportunity to join lab tours. Furthermore, visits of the geological-mineralogical museum and the exhibition “200 Years Geosciences Heidelberg” are encouraged.
To cover the expenses for catering there will be a service charge of 30 Euros at registration on-site. External student DMG members can apply for a travel allowance of 50 Euros and are kindly asked to show prove of their student membership at the venue.
In the vicinity of the university there are several hotels, a youth hostel and accommodation possibilities via the internet. The institute can be reached easily by tram or bus (ca. 10 minutes from central station or from the old town).
