Geochronological and Geochemical Evolution of the Caribbean Large Igneous Province (CLIP): Research Progress and Recent Fieldwork

Abstract

This presentation shares the current progress of my PhD project on the geochronological and geochemical evolution of the Caribbean Large Igneous Province (CLIP). The study focuses on rock samples from key regions, including Costa Rica, Haiti, and the Beata Ridge, to better understand the magmatic history of the plateau. I will also present updates from our recent fieldwork in Aruba, where we collected new samples from the Aruba Lava Formation (ALF), associated with the CLIP. Finally, I will discuss preliminary observations, current lab work, and the next steps planned for the project.
