Research Profile:

In my PhD study I aim to reconstruct the paleoclimatic evolution of Central Asia during the early Quaternary based on drillcore material from the Qaidam Basin (Tibetan Plateau). Via the generation and evaluation of palynological and organic geochemical proxy data, this study will contribute to a better understanding of the paleohydrological changes and their forcing factors connected to the shrinkage of the former Qaidam paleolake since the late Pliocene.
